Here you select a character and then fight a set of characters called a zone. Each zone has a theme to the characters and each fight has a set amount of challenges in them which when complete unlock more modifiers. These challenges request things like 'don't use super attacks' and 'don't use any modifiers', even requesting that you use a de-buff item. Finishing the final fight, and thus the zone, unlocks more goodies too.
Also included is the standard tutorial and training modes. Tutorial helps show you how Galaxy Mode works, and Training is fighting practice. This is the standard local multiplayer or "vs. Raging Soul also gives incredible boost of strength and defense to the character. A purple aura surrounds the character, the sky turns a fair bit darker and more clouds gather. It works like the story in Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 , that you pick a character and play his or her respective story, with what-if battles as well. At the end of each story there is a boss fight, which makes a powerful enemy, like Ultimate Gohan vs Super Buu Gotenks absorbed where Gohan starts with 1 HP. As strange as it sounds, this is the only modern Dragon Ball game which does not have a proper story mode. Also, various amount of titles can be unlocked depending on the character used.
Enhanced Characters will have a much higher power level, due to their items. Enhanced characters cannot have their costume changed, items will be bound on the character, and moves will be default.
